That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until the next World Cup fixture, goodbye!
The two sides were already equal in the group, having each won 2-0 in their opening games, meaning they'll stay at level pegging going into the final matchday. However, their draw does eliminate hosts Qatar, who cannot overtake the four points these two sides now have. Qatar did score their first ever World Cup goal in their 3-1 loss to Senegal earlier, but this result means their campaign is all but over.
Enner Valencia went back to the top of the scoring charts in Qatar, and became only the fourth ever player to score six consecutive World Cup goals for his team in the process. Four of his five total shots came from inside the box, with one testing Noppert and the other finding the net. He had seven touches in the box, completed two key passes, and contested 14 duels in total, with five coming in the air. Talisman.
It ends as a draw, and you'd be hard pressed to say that Ecuador are the side who'll be more disappointed by that result! They were denied an equaliser late in the first half, but didn't have to wait long for it once the second kicked off, as Enner Valencia prodded Estupinan's parried shot into the net after just four minutes. Ecuador didn't die wondering though, with Valencia having another shot blocked and Plata rattling the bar, as the Netherlands, who were certainly flat for much of the half, lucky to escape with a point.
90'+6'
FULL-TIME: NETHERLANDS 1-1 ECUADOR.
90'+5'
Sarmiento whips in a corner for Ecuador, but a strong defensive header from Van Dijk sends the ball away, and De Jong wins his side possession in the corner.
90'+3'
Sarmiento flicks the ball across the box to Preciado, whose weak header towards goal is easily collected by Noppert.
90'+1'
CHANCE!!! Ecuador go close once more!! Noppert takes too long to clear the ball and his kick is charged down by Rodriguez, and the deflection nearly sends the ball into the unguarded net!
90'+1'
We'll play at least six minutes of added time, and that should be plenty for either side to find a winner here!
90'
Plata is also taken off, with the forward line changing once more with the introduction of Romario Ibarra.
90'
Valencia is taken off via stretcher, with Kevin Rodriguez sent on to replace the Ecuador talisman.
89'
Valencia is still down, showing no signs of recovering, and he's taken off on a stretcher. He'll play no further part in this game, and by the looks of it will struggle to make their next clash against Senegal either.
87'
Valencia is down inside the centre circle, clutching his knee, and every Ecuadorian fan is holding their breath for their captain as play eventually comes to a stop for him to be treated.
85'
Ake drives towards the Ecuador box and is 40 yards from goal before being shunted to the floor by Caicedo, who is lucky to avoid a yellow card as the Dutch win a free-kick.
83'
The Oranje have only attempted two shots in this match - 10 fewer than Ecuador's 12. They've only recorded six touches in the opposition box, compared to 19 for Ecuador.
81'
An Ecuadorian corner is swung into the box, but is headed away, and a snap-shot from Preciado on the volley flies over the bar!
80'
More changes coming for the Dutch, as the goalscorer Gakpo is replaced by Besiktas' on-loan Burnley forward Wout Weghorst.
79'
Koopmeiners also comes off, and is replaced in the middle of the park by his Atalanta teammate Marten de Roon.
78'
Torres' long ball finds Valencia in the box, but a brilliant defensive header from Ake wins possession back for the Netherlands through Blind.
76'
Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is the second player to feature for the Netherlands in two different major international tournaments before his 22nd birthday, after Patrick Kluivert at Euro '96 and World Cup '98.
74'
Estrada comes off in Ecuador's first alteration, and another Brighton player, Jeremy Sarmiento, replaces him in the forward line.
73'
WIDE!!! Depay's flick puts Gakpo through on goal, and the goalscorer chips Galindez. The ball looks to be creeping into the net, but bounces wide of the far post as the flag goes up!
71'
Estupinan sets off on the counter for Ecuador, but he's barrelled over by Gakpo as he progresses and wins a free-kick.
69'
The Oranje make their second change, with Klaassen withdrawn for Steven Berghuis.
68'
Ecuador have won just two of their seven World Cup meetings with European sides, beating Croatia in 2002 and Poland in 2006, and losing four of these.
66'
Klaassen finds Gakpo on the edge of the box, who lays the ball off to Koopmeiners. He has Dumfries in space to his right, but chooses to pull the trigger and sends his shot over the bar and behind!
64'
CHANCE! Hincapie's long clearance finds Valencia, who engages two before squaring into the middle. Plata arrives late and looks the place the ball in the corner, but scuffs his finish and the ball rolls into Noppert's gloves!
62'
Estupinan crosses on the volley and fires the ball back to the edge of the box. Blind's hooked clearance ricochets off Preciado, and almost bounces goalwards!
61'
Valencia has attempted five shots so far, the most of anyone in the game, and the most the Fenerbahce striker has attempted in any World Cup match across his career.
59'
OFF THE BAR!!! What a chance for Ecuador!!! Preciado's cross for Valencia is fired goalwards, but Van Dijk gets in the way. Plata follows in to smash it back in, and the ball cannons off the bar and out again!
57'
Mendez arrives late and catch Depay as he releases the ball, with the unnecessary challenge resulting in a yellow card for the Ecuador midfielder.
57'
Gakpo and Hincapie do battle again, as the goalscorer peels away from the Ecuador defender and bursts over halfway. He follows Gakpo into his own half and brings him down from behind, conceding a free-kick in the Netherlands' favour.
55'
Gakpo takes in a throw and looks to beat Hincapie, but his attempted ball across the face ricochets back to him, before going out for a goal kick.
53'
The Dutch were given a let-off by the offside flag to deny Estupinan in the first half, but they completely switched off to give him all the time in the world, and his shot was parried right into the path of Valencia!
51'
Valencia's third goal of the tournament makes him the leading scorer so far in Qatar, and that's his sixth of Ecuador's consecutive goals at World Cups, putting him amongst the esteemed company of Eusebio, Rossi, and Salenko!
49'
GOOOOAAAALLLL!!!! And this time it WILL count!!! Estupinan is found in open space down the left and drills a low shot from the edge of the box. He gets down well and parries it, but Valencia is on hand to stab the ball into back of the net to make it 1-1! They were denied by the flag right at the end of the first half, but Ake plays Valencia onside here, meaning they do get their just reward right at the start of the second!
48'
Ecuador's early free-kick is crossed into the box, but is cleared. Caicedo recovers the loose ball and floats it back into the danger area, but Noppert climbs above the rest to catch it with ease.
46'
Depay's first touch is to kick the second half off, and we're back underway in this Group A game!
46'
The Netherlands make one half-time change, with Bergwijn replaced by Memphis Depay up front for the Oranje.
The two sides return for the second half, and after being denied late on in the first, can Ecuador find an equaliser here?
Gakpo's shot from the edge of the box mustered just 0.04 xG, but in it went past Galindez to put the Netherlands ahead! That was his and his side's only shot of the half, with the in-demand forward having two touches in the box, five passes in the final third, and four duels contested. He's also won the ball three times, once in the final third, doing so via a tackle and two clearances. Deadly.
The first half ends, with Ecuador's players incensed that they were denied an equaliser there! They arguably did deserve an equaliser, having created several chances towards the back end of the half. However, Gakpo's opener was a strike worthy of winning any game, as the PSV forward smashed home a peach of a finish after just six minutes. It's been quite nervy since then, with both teams having half-chances here and there, but Ecuador's disallowed goal will hopefully inspire them to find an equaliser sooner rather than later.
45'+4'
HALF-TIME: NETHERLANDS 1-0 ECUADOR.
45'+3'
BALL IN THE NET!!! Ecuador look to have equalised, as the headed away corner is blasted back towards goal by Plata. Estupinan turns it goalwards, and the ball bypasses Porozo to beat Noppert and roll into the net! Estupinan wheels away in celebration, but the flag is up against the offside Porozo, who despite not touching the ball is deemed to have acted in the passage of play, meaning the goal will be ruled out!
45'+2'
BLOCKED!!! Estupinan's cross is aimed towards Valencia, but the captain's header bounces off Ake and goes behind for a corner!
45'+2'
There's a coming together between Timber and Estrada on the left flank, and despite the Ecuador forward arriving late, Timber's reaction sees him concede the free-kick!
45'
We'll play three added minutes of injury time to close out the first half, and compared to some of the period of time added on during this World Cup, it shoud fly by!
44'
Blind arcs a cross into the box from the touchline, and with Bergwijn chasing, Galindez races out of his goal to claim the ball with Hincapie in cover.
42'
Porozo threads a ball over the top for Caicedo to chase, but Noppert smothers it on the edge of the six-yard box before the Brighton midfielder can get there.
40'
De Jong has attempted four tackles in this game, more than any other player on either team, just ahead of Caicedo's three.
38'
Caicedo goes down under pressure from De Jong, but is penalised himself for handling the ball on the floor. Klaassen's involved too, but the referee is eventually able to calm the two midfielders as play continues.
36'
Estupinan floats a good cross into the box with players waiting, but the gigantic six feet eight frame of Noppert is out to pluck the ball out of the sky.
34'
Enner Valencia has scored each of Ecuador's last five goals at the World Cup. In the history of the competition, only three players have ever scored six consecutive goals for a nation – Eusebio for Portugal in 1966, Paolo Rossi for Italy in 1982 and Oleg Salenko for Russia in 1994.
32'
SAVED!!! Ecuador counter and the ball is floated wide to Valencia on the left. He cuts inside and lets fly from the edge of the area, which is tipped behind well by Noppert at his near post!
30'
Blind's cross from the left is deflected as it floats into the box, and Hincapie is forced to hack it behind for a corner!
28'
CHANCE!!! Valencia glides into the box and evades Timber before squaring to Estrada. He mis-hits his shot and the ball skews wide, with Preciado picking up the pieces to win his side a corner!
26'
Timber slides in recklessly to prevent Estrada from receiving the ball and does so, but gets all of the man and none of the ball, conceding a free-kick in the process.
24'
CHANCE!! Preciado bursts down the right for Ecuador and beats his marker, before crossing into the box. Timber hacks it away, but back come the Tricolors, as Caicedo runs along the left byline before pulling the ball back to Valencia, but the Oranje are again able to clear!
23'
Cody Gakpo's opener was the first goal Ecuador had conceded in 701 minutes across all competitions, with their previous goal conceded being in March against Argentina
21'
Dumfries does well to steal the ball from Caicedo and races in-field. He's pulled back by Estupinan and Torres kicks the loose ball into his chest, but the Dutch wing-back isn't awarded a free-kick!
19'
Dumfries sizes up a long throw-in as his teammates and Ecuador defenders pack the box, but his attempt to find Gakpo is thwarted as Torres clears.
17'
Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has lost none of his eight World Cup matches in charge of his country, excluding penalty shoot-outs. Only Vittorio Pozzo, with nine, has managed more games without ever losing in the competition.
15'
Koopmeiners squares a low pass into the box for Gakpo, but a good touch from Hincapie restricts him from controlling the ball and Ecuador are able to clear.
13'
Netherlands are unbeaten in their last 14 group stage games at the World Cup – only Germany (16 between 1990 and 2010) and Brazil (current run of 16) have had longer such unbeaten runs in the tournament.
11'
CHANCE! Preciado's cross from the right is headed back from the far post by Hincapie, and Valencia strikes a good effort on the half volley which is headed away by Ake!
10'
Ecuador attempt to keep possession for a spell and slowly move it forward, before Valencia is shoved over by Timber to win his side a free-kick.
8'
Having scored after just five minutes and four seconds, Gakpo's goal is the fastest one of the 2022 World Cup so far!
6'
The work from Klaassen there was excellent to get to the ball and feed Gakpo, and the PSV forward did the rest emphatically!
6'
GOOOOOAAAALLL!!!! What an early strike that is!!! Klaassen does well to rein in a deflected pass, before feeding Gakpo. He takes one step to the left before shooting with his left foot, and rifling the ball straight into the top corner! That's his second of the tournament, and what a way to get it as he puts the Oranje 1-0 up!
4'
Ecuador wing-back Preciado has gone down, holding his groin. We're still early in the game, so hopefully we will be okay to carry on.
3'
The Netherlands have lost just two of their 14 World Cup matches against South American opponents, winning eight, and losing only the 1978 final against Argentina, and a quarter-final meeting with Brazil in 1994.
1'
Estrada kicks the game off for Ecuador, and we're underway in Al Rayyan!
The teams make their way out onto the pitch, and we'll be ready and raring to go straight after the national anthems!
Enner Valencia had the ball in the net three times against Qatar, but the first was ruled out, thanks to a very borderline offside call from VAR. The Fenerbahce forward starts this game on the left flank though, with Michael Estrada leading the line in a 5-4-1 formation, as La Tricolors primarily look to keep the Dutch at bay.
Cody Gakpo was somewhat limited by his wide right position for much of the game against Senegal, but as soon as he moved into the centre, he headed in the opener. He’ll therefore start through the middle alongside Steve Bergwijn, with the two supported by Davy Klaassen in the hole, who also scored in the dying minutes last time out.

In the tournament’s opening match, Ecuador wasted no time in crashing Qatar’s party, having a goal chalked off after just three minutes for offside before scoring twice more in the first half through Enner Valencia. The Oranje were comparatively poor against Senegal for most of the game, but respective 84th and 99th minute strikes from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen secured the victory late on.
The two unbeaten sides in Group A face off, with both the Dutch and the Ecuadorians winning their opening games against Senegal and Qatar respectively, each doing so by a margin of two goals to nil.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this FIFA World Cup fixture, as the Netherlands take on Ecuador in Group A.
