A trip to St Patrick's Athletic on October 2 in the side's next Premier Division match is next up for Dundalk, who have 17 points and are in fifth spot.
Last season for Dundalk, Kelly made 35 Premier Division appearances and scored nine goals.
Prior to joining Dundalk in January 2019, Kelly made 10 league appearances in total at Bohemians, scoring five goals.
